This conference is on the routine agenda of the
Ministry of Transportation’s Human Resources
Development Agency, held annually. It is carried
out alternately by the merchant marine
polytechnic under the Ministry of Transportation.
The implementation of ICAMI is a manifestation of
our strong commitment to developing human
resources in the field of sea transportation.
Through this international conference, there is
hoped to be an increase in insight and the drafting
of the concept of developing maritime education
and training.

Through these international conferences,
lecturers from all merchant marine polytechnic
and marine transportation observers have
submitted their papers. This also shows that we
consistently carry out our efforts to develop
shipping science and technology.
The year’s theme of our conference is The Future
of Seafaring, Shipbuilding and Their Impact on
Maritime Education and Training. This theme
shows our efforts to prepare future seafarers.
Seafarers who are adaptive to the trend and
change of increasingly sophisticated sea
transportation technology. This theme also
describes our projections about future ship
technology, the ship’s shape and size, and the
cargo type.

At the end of the theme, we are challenged to
formulate a concept for how we carry out maritime
education and training that is in line with the
changes and developments of the times.
