Barombong Merchant Marine Polytechnic (Poltekpel Barombong) organized a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) in collaboration with Jade University of Applied Sciences, Germany, carrying the theme: “Issues and Strategies Developing the Quality of Education, Training, and Potential International Partnerships.”
This event served as a strategic forum to address current issues in education and training, particularly in the maritime sector, while also exploring innovative strategies to enhance academic quality, strengthen professional competence, and open wider opportunities for international collaboration.
In his remarks, the Director of Barombong Merchant Marine Polytechnic, Capt. Sidrotul Muntaha, M.Si., M.Mar., emphasized the institution’s commitment to strengthening global networks: “At Barombong Merchant Marine Polytechnic, we believe that education and training are the backbone of a competent and future-ready workforce. However, to maintain relevance and competitiveness, we must continuously adapt, innovate, and collaborate, especially beyond national borders.Through this visit, we hope to initiate a meaningful dialogue and explore potential partnerships in areas such as curriculum development, student and faculty exchange, joint research, and capacity building. The event continued with a presentation delivered by Dr. Falk Von Seck, Professor for Sustainable Logistics and Transportation Management, Jade University of Applied Sciences, on the topic of studying in Elsfleth, Germany, followed by a group photo session.
